Goodwill Insurancetimes article HERE Why can Insurance Brokers show goodwill on the balance sheet but IFAs can't? "On the assumption that any sensible IFA business has a sale value generated by the momentum of its past earnings, its seems logical that a goodwill item should be included in the balance sheet for the present valuation. If it is acceptable to fsa now for insurance brokers why does it suddenly become unacceptable in 2008 ? If it is ok for insurance brokers now why not for IFAs now.
